Rachel Seery and Jane Murphy are 2nd year UCC students, who went to school in Blackwater Community College in Lismore. This year they are taking part in Ireland’s Largest Student Fundraiser, Jailbreak, a 36-hour global challenge to raise vital funds for the Society of St Vincent de Paul and Amnesty International Ireland.
The race begins at Dublin Castle on the morning of Saturday 22nd February 2020 as students dart from the start-line in a race to a mystery Location X. Following clues which are revealed to the team throughout the day, teams of two trek across Europe. But there’s a catch! The teams are not allowed to spend any of their own money on travel and must rely only on the goodwill of strangers to help them get to Location X before the 36 hours are up!
