Benji Whelan has stepped down as Waterford football manager after two years in charge.
The Kilmacthomas man informed the county board today that he has decided not to seek a third season as Déise boss. Waterford exited the Munster championship to Limerick last month after a 2-14 to 0-9 defeat in Fraher Field.
During his tenure, the Déise enjoyed Division 4 wins over Wexford, Antrim, London and Sligo. They lost to Clare by a point in the 2019 Munster quarter final.
