West Waterford athlete Joe Gough named European Masters Middle Distance 'Runner of the Year'

West Waterford's Joe Gough has been named 2018 Male Middle distance runner by the European Masters Athletic Association.

Last year saw Joe win the World 800m over-65 outdoor title, setting a new European record, and also the World Outdoor 1500m title.

In addition he won the 800m and 1500m European Indoor Championships and the European Federation have acknowledged his outstanding performances with this Major Award.
