Waterford ladies football manager Ciaran Curran is asking Déise fans to support their Hit The Target fundraising campaign as the senior side prepares for Division 1 of the National League next month.
"We'd urge everyone in the county to get behind the ladies. The players train five nights a week, three collectively and two gym sessions, and travel long distances and don't get any expenses for that. We're raising money here for the basics, just to support these players to represent Waterford as best they can. We'd urge everybody to get in behind us and support them because the effort they put in is fantastic."
Waterford returned to training on Wednesday night. "It's like the first day of school all over again! It's great to be back together again. The players have been fantastic, they have put in a huge effort over the lockdown. We've been in constant contact with each other but there's nothing like playing a team sport and getting back together and training as a squad."
