It's a big evening for Waterford referee Nicky Barry who takes charge of the Electric Ireland Munster Minor Hurling Championship Final this evening, his first major Provincial decider.
The Passage clubman is the man in the middle for the clash of Tipperary and Clare at the TUS Gaelic Grounds.
Speaking to WLR Sport, Nicky says he was delighted to get the call for such a big game; "I done the Munster semi-final last Tuesday (between Clare and Cork) and I was happy enough with the performance and your waiting then on the next day or two, and Thursday evening then I got the call to say I was appointed to the Final which was a massive thing for me and my umpires as well so looking forward to the game now on Wednesday".
Congratulations to our own Nicky Barry and his umpire team of Jamie O’Neill, Jason Roche, Seamus Barry and Paul Barry! Nicky shall referee the @ElectricIreland @MunsterGAA MHC Final between @TipperaryGAA and @GaaClare in @LimerickCLG , next Wednesday. Best of luck lads! #GAA pic.twitter.com/xaAfXNweBo
