Waterford native Lee O’Connor has been nominated for the EFL League Two Player of the Month Award.
The former Villa man has started in centre midfield for Tranmere Rovers after making a permanent move to the club from Celtic earlier in January.
The 21-year-old made five appearances for the side last month, helping the team to three wins: in January Rovers got the better of Scunthorpe United, Rochdale and Crawley Town, and the side picked up a valuable point away to Salford City.
Micky Mellon’s side are second in the league table after a 3-0 win at home to Swindon last night.
O’Connor is up against Forest Green’s Luke McGee, Swindon’s Harry McKirdy, and Newport’s Dom Telford for the award.
