Waterford took the lead in Dalymount Park on 24 minutes when an Ali Coote shot from 25 yards took a slight deflection which deceived Stephen McGuinness in the Bohemians goal and the ball entered the back of the net.

John Martin was unlucky on 31 minutes when his rocket of a shot came crashing off the cross bar. Waterford made it 2-0 on the stroke of half-time when Tyreke Wilson curled a free kick passed the helpless Stephen McGuinness.

The expected onslaught from Bohemians never really materialised and Waterford held on for a very comprehensive victory against second placed Bohemians. The win has moved Waterford into third position on the league table thanks in large part to star performances from Ali Coote and Tyreke Wilson.

After the full-time whistle, John Sheridan told the players he really enjoyed his time with Waterford and told the players to be proud of themselves that they were more than capable of going on to qualify for European football. He added that he would be back before the end of the season to wish them well.
