Waterford Wildcats secured National Cup glory at the National Basketball Arena yesterday following a thrilling victory over UU Tigers in the Under-20 decider.
It's the first National title in ten years for the local side, who emerged victors by 85 points to 76 against the Ulster side.
Debbie Ogayemi (who was voted MVP of the tournament) , Abby Flynn and Kate Hickey got some crucial scores as Tommy O' Mahony's charges recorded a famous win.
Speaking to WLR Sport, head-coach Tommy O' Mahony was thrilled with the victory; "Yeah it's great, we had to work hard for it, it was a great game, a few people stood up near the end of it there but it's always good especially with this kind of team who've been going with the last five or six years".
We'll be hearing from Tommy O' Mahony on this evening's "On The Ball" from 6:10 pm here on WLR.
