The Blues welcome the recently dethroned League Of Ireland champions to the RSC this afternoon for a game where only one team can change their position in the table.
Ahead of kick off, both the manager Franny Rockett and defender Tunmise Sobowale have indicated that the goal for the remaining two games is to seal up six points and finish the season on a high.
Waterford were near claiming third spot and a European qualifier spot for a number of weeks but hopes have dwindled after a coupe of lackluster performances.
Rockett's side will have their work cut out for them today as Dundalk will surely be fired up having had their crown taken off them last night by Shamrock Rovers.
The Blues currently sit on 21 points - 1 behind Sligo and 4 behind Dundalk. So the hopes of a European spot are not dead in the water yet.
A win today can see them reclaim fourth before the final round of games.
They still need a favour from other fixtures however as St Pats would need to beat Dundalk, as would Sligo. While the Blues do need to grasp those two wins, starting with todays tie.
They can afford a single draw from Dundalk, but it cant be today - as without the full three this afternoon, the European push is over.
Ahead of kick off, Matt Keane spoke to manager Franny Rockett, Goalkeeper Brian Murphy, as well as defenders Tunmise Sobowale & Jake Davidson
