TRAMORE 1 DUNGARVAN 2
Dungarvan United came from behind to get back to winning ways in the Azzurri Premier League as they inflicted back to back defeats on Tramore in their league meeting at Graun Park on Saturday evening last.
The home side took the lead from the penalty spot on 35 minutes when Cian Flanagan was fouled in the area by Dungarvan defender Patrick Lynch, and it was Conor Butler that dispatched the spot-kick past keeper Thomas Sayers.
Toby Taylor levelled the tie for the Kilrush outfit three minutes before half-time break when he fired past keeper Leon Murphy after a through ball from Kian Kelly Carey as the sides went in on level terms.
It looked as if both sides would have to settle for a point apiece despite having chances, but that all changed on 87 minutes when the Old Borough notched the winning goal when Cleifron DeSouza found space on the top of the penalty to drill a low shot past Leon Murphy.
FERRYBANK 1 SOUTHEND 1
Baasit Ishola popped up with winning goal in the dying minutes as Southend United denied Ferrybank their first win of the season after a 1-1 draw in their Premier League clash played at Abbeylands on Saturday evening.
After a scoreless first-half, it was the home side that struck the front on 70 minutes through Paul Phelan before Ishola’s late, late goal, gave the visitors a share of the spoils in a keenly contested affair.
