Waterford FC 0 Bohemians 1
by Matt Keane
Having lost to Sligo Rovers at the RSC three weeks ago Waterford FC failed to record their first home victory of the season when they lost to Bohemians this evening.
Boh's scored the only goal off a poor game two minutes before half-time.
Former Blues player Tyreke Wilson cracked in a free kick from 20 yards; Paul Martin, who was playing in goal for the absent Brian Murphy produced a truly brilliant save by tipping the ball on to his crossbar but when the ball broke lose Rob Cornwell was well placed to tuck the ball to the net from close range.
Kyle Ferguson had a glorious chance to level matters four minutes into the second half but he headed straight at the visiting goalkeeper James Talbot from four yards out.
Waterford had to play the last 20 minutes with ten players as they had used their full quota of substitutes when Isaac Tshipamba had to be carried off injured.
History was made in the game as John and Paul Martin became the first ever twins to play a Premier League for Waterford in the same match.
The Blues now travel to Richmond Park on Tuesday to play St Patrick's Athletic.
