An early goal set the home side up for victory although Pat Sullivan's charges did produce a strong 2nd-half, Waterford will now face Westmeath with official fixture details still to be confirmed.
The Leinster side have lost their three group games to Galway, Donegal and Mayo.
Former Déise star Michelle Ryan was chatting on Monday's "On The Ball" and she admitted that it's a big week for the squad and management; "That's where the whole mental side of the game comes in and I suppose the approach of the management going into this week is going to be vitally important. Sometimes as players you just want to go from game to game and put something to bed, any try and move onto the next game. Sometimes if things are going drastically wrong you actually do need that little bit of time between games to maybe tweak a few things and sort stuff out".
One thing is for sure, there'll be no quarter given or asked come Sunday afternoon with top flight survival on the line.
