There were victories for Abbeyside and Passage in the county senior hurling championship last night.
Neil Montgomery scored 2-3 from play as Abbeyside got the better of Fourmilewater 2-16 to 0-13.
Manager Peter Queally believes that the young forward has a bright future.
In the curtain raiser, Passage produced a strong second half to see off Ballyduff Upper 2-17 to 2-13 with goals from Eoghan Reilly and Liam Flynn.
Super sub Flynn hit 1-2 in three minutes and Passage boss Michael Walsh said that he made a big impression.
In Walsh Park, champions Ballygunner overcame Clonea 2-26 to 0-18 as Peter Hogan and Barry O'Sullivan netted second half goals.
Mount Sion defeated thirteen man Roanmore 3-17 to 0-13. Evan McGrath and Martin F O'Neill raised green flags for the Monastery men.
