Waterford's wait for a first Munster Senior football Championship since 2010 must go on after tonight's Provincial Quarter-Final defeat to Limerick in Fraher Field.
Despite the home team opening the scoring through Conor Murray in the opening minute, it was the Shannonsiders who took over after that point and goals from Cillian Fahy and Adrian Enright saw the league champions ahead by seven points at the interval (2-5 to 0-4).
The second period was a more even affair but Limerick always held the upper hand as the Déise couldn't find that goal that they so badly needed, as Dylan Guiry opened their second half account with a neat score.
Limerick looked lively when they broke at pace as corner forwards Hugh Bourke and Sean McSweeney scored six points between team with Ian Corbett controlling the game from centre back.
Substitutes Davy Lyons (2) and Seamus O' Carroll also got their names on the scoresheet as Limerick sealed their place in the last four where they'll face the winners of Tipperary and Clare.
Jason Curry top scored for Waterford with 0-3 while team captain Conor Murray kicked two from play, but overall it was a disappointing night for Benji Whelan's charges.
