Waterford FC have announced that the club have been awarded licences for both the 2025 SSE Airtricity Men’s & Women’s Premier Divisions for the upcoming League of Ireland season.

Group CEO Steve Curwood spoke on the news that broke earlier today, commenting:

“We are absolutely thrilled to announce that we have secured both licenses for the 2025 season! This marks another key step, particularly as we celebrate the introduction of our women’s team—a first in our history! We want to extend our gratitude to everyone who has poured their supported the licensing process for both men and women’s over the past few months. The journey is once again just beginning! Stay tuned in the coming days as we unveil exciting details about our women’s team and what lies ahead across the entire club for the 2025 season."
