Despite losing 3-2 to UCD on Friday night Waterford FC remain four points clear at the top of the First Division League table.
Second placed Cobh Ramblers had an opportunity to close the gap to just two points when they played hosts to Shelbourne last night but the Reds won the game one nil thanks to a goal scored by James English just after the hour mark.
The Blues have a total of 35 points and UCD have now moved into second place on 31 points. Cobh Ramblers slip to third on a total of 30 points.
Shelbourne have now won two away games on the trot to move into 4th position and they play hosts to Waterford FC in Tolka Park on Friday next . It will be a massive game for both clubs.
