"The next three games will decide a lot" - Frost on Waterford FC

"The next three games will decide a lot" - Frost on Waterford FC

Waterford FC return to league action this Friday with a crucial clash at home to Dundalk.

Keith Long's side have suffered a slump in form in recent weeks, losing 5 of their last 6 outings - and will be looking to bounce back as the race for Europe heats up.

Former Waterford captain John Frost says it is a must win game for the Blues.

"It is a must win game with the few results that we've had recently against Derry and Sligo. We're still there or thereabouts with the results that we've had - which is amazing, but if we can get three points here against Dundalk it would really put us back into the race for Europe."

Frost is expecting a tough test from the visitors.

"As much as they're having off-field problems, they'll come here and look at Waterford's results and say we have a chance of getting something here. Tim Clancy will create an atmosphere of them versus us and they'll have plenty of belief coming down to Waterford. Waterford on the other hand will see vulnerabilities in the off-field problems in Dundalk, they've had some good performances against them this season already and they'll be questioning what resolve they have."

Frost says the next three games will go a long way in deciding where the Blues ultimately finish - they face Dundalk at home, St. Patrick's Athletic away before another home clash against Galway United.

"You'd be hoping that Waterford could get two wins at least if they want to push for Europe. They are ahead of schedule even after having a little hiccup with their form of late - but if they could come out of this spell with two wins, it would really ask questions of the teams that are around them."
