Waterford FC lost 2-0 to Bohemians last night in difficult weather conditions at the RSC.

Much of the second-half was played in driving wind and rain, hampering the attacking capabilities of both sides.

But it was Bohs who had the edge.

Keith Long’s side went in leading at the break through an own goal from Sam Bone in the 42nd minute and a controversial injury time penalty from Danny Mandroiu.

Blue boss Alan Reynolds says the conditions were treacherous:

"It was impossible to play out there; it was disappointing, a big crowd. You know people come and watch your first game and you can't play.

"We defended well for the first 42 minutes and then there was the two, which was poor from our end. We then didn't do enough in the second half, ran out of ideas, lacked a little bit of quality at times. It just wasn't to be."
