Waterford FC came from behind to defeat Cork City in Turners Cross last in what was thrilling Munster Derby last night.

It was the third time the Blues defeated the Rebels this season.

Darragh O'Connor gave Cork City the lead on 26 minutes. His goal came after the home side had forced a corner kick.

Waterford FC who were playing their third game in seven days scored on 82 minutes when Maxi Coogan headed home a right wing cross from Shane Duggan
and Walter Figuera scored the winning goal for the Blues two minutes into stoppage time.

The Blues come into the game on the back of a good performance against Derry City on Friday night.
Michael O’Connor’s first-half header ensured the Blues took a well-deserved point from a hotly-contested match.

That point followed up a positive performance away to Shamrock Rovers last Tuesday.

The Blues now prepare for meetings with Hearts Colts and Dundalk this coming Friday and following Monday.
