Sam Bone has left Waterford FC.
The former Shamrock Rovers and Charlton youth player released a statement on his Twitter page late last night saying "I am leaving the club with an incredibly sour taste in my mouth. I am extremely sad to be leaving. It was no secret how much I loved playing for this club. But sometimes you have to put your emotions aside and do whats best for you."
Bone went on to thank his most recent managers Franny Rockett and Alan Reynolds as well as a number of the backroom team involved at the club - "Micahel O' Sullivan, Mark Dunne, Sandra, Michael Walsh, Tony Burke and Dirk. I don't need to elaborate, everyone who knows the club know how important these people are and how much they have done for the club"
He now plans to travel home where he will focus on rehabbing his long term inury.
