Waterford FC bowed out of the FAI Cup last night when they lost narrowly to Dundalk in Oriel Park.
An early Sean Hoare goal gave Vinny Perth’s side a 1-nil win over the Blues at Oriel Park.
John Sheridan the Waterford manager spoke with Matt Keane after the match and was happy with the young team he played.
"Obviously, I wanted to come and win the game but it gives me an opportunity to try and give one or two players who haven't figured much a chance because I'm going to need all the players throughout the season.
"Disappointed with the result but, the pleasing thing I thought was we responded to the goal and were really unfortunate not to get something from the game."

There was high drama in the other first round game.
Cork City and Longford Town looked set for penalties until a Ricardo Dinanga goal in added time of extra-time handed a 1-nil victory to the hosts.
The draw for the last-16 will take place at midday.
