Waterford County Board set to pay outstanding expenses

The pandemic induced cash flow problems have been pointed out as the reason for the Waterford Under 20 Footballers not receiving their expenses for 2020.

Waterford County board treasurer John Jackson told the Irish Examiner he accepted that players involved with other intercounty panels had received expenses and that payments are currently being processed for the U20 squad – with players expected to receive their funds within the week.

It is understood that a sum of money in the range of  €3000 - €5000 was outstanding.

The county board posted a deficit of €216,997 for 2020, citing a lack of gate receipts due to the pandemic.
