Kelyn Cassidy is set to represent Ireland later this month after the Waterford native was selected on the Elite World Championship Team.
The Saviours-Crystal Boxer was recently crowned Elite Senior Champion earlier this month at the National Stadium in Dublin beating Tommy Hyde, and became the first Waterford fighter in nine years to claim national honours.
Following the Elite Championships, the light-heavyweight fighter was among a group who were brought to Sheffield the home of Team GB to take part in sparring.
IABA Head Coach Zaur Antia analysed the sparring and Cassidy was chosen alongside the following group to represent the country at Elite Men’s world championships next week in Serbia.

The Irish Elite Women’s team are currently in training in the National Sports Campus Abbotstown preparing for their World Championships due to be held in Turkey this December.
The Elite Men's World Championships are due to take place later this month in Serbia.
