The annual Waterford AC Half Marathon takes place on Saturday.

The race sets off from the SETU Arena and over 2,760 runners have registered from all over Ireland.

Here's all you need to know about the big day:

Location and Time
The race takes place on Saturday 30th November 2024. The race will start at 9.30am sharp. SETU Arena, West Campus, Carriganore, Co. Waterford. The arena is located just off the Outer Ring Road as you approach on the N25 from Cork or New Ross. EIRCODE: X91 XD96.
Parking
Parking will be available across 3 car parks on site on the day. As we have a full entry, please arrive early to ensure parking can be done quickly and the event starts on time. Please follow the instructions of the stewards. Any questions, please key them until after you are parked and at the SETU Arena.
Course Markings
The route is very similar to last year, with some minor adjustments with the completion of roadworks that were in process last year. The course will be marked with Markers at each MILE.
Cutoff time for the final participants is approx. 12.30. No early start time.
Pacers
Pacers for the following times: 1.30, 1.40, 1,50 and 2.00
Help Desk
Bib Numbers those who entered have sent to the address provided on their entry. Any entrant whose pack has not arrived by post will need a replacement number and chip assigned. Go to the Event helpdesk and they will assign a new number. Please have detail of your booking reference, name and DOB available to aid in the transfer of your entry to a new race number/chip. Please allow enough time the morning of the race as the helpdesk could be busy. The helpdesk will be located just inside the main door of SETU Arena.
Toilets
Toilets will be available in SETU Arena as well as Portaloo’s located near the start of the race.
Showers
There are showers available in the SETU Arena changing rooms for use after the race.
Bag Drop
Bag Drop will be Court 3- SETU Arena. Your bag will be taken and tagged with your race number and can only be returned to you by returning to pickup with your race number.
Water Stations
Water will be provided at miles 3, 6, 9 and at the finish area. Please use the bins provided to dispose of all bottles. Please use bins on route or bring other litter such as used gel packs back to the finish and dispose of responsibly.
Spectators
Spectators can watch the race at most points along the course. The SETU Arena is a good location that allows you to see the start and finish as well as the ability to take a short walk from the carpark to also see the participants on the Waterford Greenway, mile 6-7.
Entry On The Day
There is NO ENTRY on the day.
End Of Race
The finish line is back at the SETU Arena. After you cross the finish line you will be asked to proceed to the medal collection area, where you will also receive water, banana and a “goodie bag” which also contains the famed WAC Half marathon hat. The race results and time will all be available on MyRunResults. Medal presentations for 1st Male and Female runners will be at 11.30am at the WAC Tent in the Arena Area. All other prizes will be sent out after the race.
