Tributes are being paid to Club President and Ferrybank AFC founding member Jimmy Searson who has died.

Jimmy Searson was in his 90th year, WLR's Matt Keane says "pure and simple he was Mr Football in Waterford."

He formed the Ferrybank Football Club when he was just a teenager and for decades he served the Waterford Junior League Committee with style and dignity in every possible position. He also represented Waterford on the Munster Council for many years.

For the past decade, he was proud to be honorary president of both the Waterford Junior League and Ferrybank AFC.

Jimmy was an avid Manchester United supporter all of his life. Matt Keane says "his proudest moment was when John O'Shea made his debut for the Red Devils". John, of course, learned his trade with the Ferrybank club.

"Quite simply, Jimmy Searson was a true football man to the core."
