Waterford selector Stephen Frampton says that it is tough to leave ten players behind for championship matches.
Only 26 squad members are permitted to travel to Croke Park for Saturday's All Ireland semi final with Kilkenny and Frampton feels that it isn't fair on players who have trained all year.
"It's absolutely horrible. Our difficult decision every week is to pick the panel and to tell guys that they're not in the 26. That's hard enough but to tell them that they can't travel with the team is horrible. They've put in just as much effort as everybody else. Some of those players will be the stars of the future; they're going to be filling stadiums in a year or two. To see them sitting it out at home is not very satisfactory. Not only that, we also have backroom people that have put in a lot of work and they have to sit it out as well. It's ridiculous really and it's something that we'd love for the GAA to look at. It's not a nice feeling and it leaves a bad taste in the mouth when you're leaving those people behind for the big matches."
