Thomas Barr and Team Ireland have missed out on the finals of the 4 by 400 metre mixed relay at the Olympic Games in Paris.
The Irish team of Barr, Chris O'Donnell, Sophie Becker and Sharlene Mawdsley finished fifth in their semi-final in a time of 3:12:67 - but felt the loss of Rhadisat Adeleke as they were a second short of the required qualifying time.
Barr ran his sectional in a time of 45.20 seconds, but the overall time was not fast enough for the reigning European champions to qualify for tomorrow's final.
Great Britain won out in national record time, with Netherlands second and Italy third.
In the other semi-final, the USA set a world record time of 3:07:41 courtesy of Vernon Norwood, Shamier Little, Bryce Deadmon and Kaylyn Brown - whilst France came home in second and Belgium in third.
Jamaica and Poland qualified to the final with the fastest times.
