The Waterford ladies football team will be looking for their first win over Cork since 2017 in Sunday's Munster semi final at Fraher Field. Manager Pat Sullivan believes that they can produce a big performance.
"You have to lift your game against Cork, you look forward to playing Cork. Cork will come with a lot of confidence, they bring that bit of cockiness as a team that have been there and done it. I have no fear of Sunday whatsoever. I believe in the girls, I'm lucky enough to be involved with some of the players since Under 14. They'll die for that jersey. I do strongly believe that if everything goes to plan and we get that bit of luck on the day, we will be there in the home straight."
Waterford lost to Dublin, Meath and Cork in Division 1 before they beat Westmeath in a relegation play-off. "I know people outside the circle will say 'ye didn't have a good league.' I actually think we had a very good league. I think come Sunday you will see that hunger and drive come out of the players. They know they've been close with a couple of years. In 2017, Cork came to town as All Ireland champions and we left everything on the line and we turned them over. Come Sunday, you'll see a team that really, really wants to go on and prove that they're better than what people think."
