Déise hurling captain Conor Prunty has been blown away by all the well wishes since he was announced as All Star number three.
Prunty is Abbeyside's first All Star and Waterford's first All Star full back. He says that the messages have been pouring in. "The phone has been pretty hectic," he told WLR's Lár Na Páirce. "That was a bit overwhelming to be honest. Obviously, it means a lot to other people. I'm really happy that I can give people a bit of joy and that they're proud of me. I find it hard to believe that I have so many contacts! Grateful for all the messages and much appreciated."
The 24 year old was surprised to make the team. "I kind of laughed to be honest with you, I wasn't really expecting it. A bit overwhelming then. I got home to the parents and they were proud. It's nice for the club and for friends and family."
