Aaron Ryan and Dermot Ryan were the stars of the show as the Nire swatted aside Kilmacthomas to top Group C of the Waterford Senior Football Championship last night.
The Ballymac men led at half time by 3-11 to 1-3 as the game was effectively over early on - the Nire laying down a marker in the bid to lift the Conway Cup.
Aaron Ryan netted a brace of first-half goals while Tom Barron also raised a green flag.
Dylan Power pulled back a consolation goal for Kilmacthomas, who are also through to the quarter finals.
Aaron Ryan hit 2-3, Tom Barron got 1-2, inter-county footballer Dermot Ryan had 0-6, with Shane O'Meara pitching in with 0-4, while there was two points apiece for Conor Gleeson and Kyle Cuddy.
Both sides will be in quarter final action next weekend.
In last night's Divisional action, Ballinacourty secured top spot in Group 2 of the Western Intermediate Football Championship with a 2-9 to 0-11 win over Sliabh gCua at Fraher Field.
Despite defeat, the Touraneena side are through to the last four on scoring average.
In the Western Junior 'A' Football Championship, defending champions Shamrocks overcame Ballyduff Upper in Clashmore by 1-12 to 0-8, while Tallow got the better of neighbours Lismore by 3-9 to 1-6 in Ballyduff.
Meanwhile, in the opening Eastern Intermediate Football Championship Quarter-Final, Portlaw edged out De La Salle by 3-10 to 2-10 in an exciting contest at the WIT Arena.
