Stradbally is a sea of red and white ahead of Sunday's ladies football showdown against Ballymacarbry.
It's their first county final appearance since 1980. Selector Nuala Hogan says that the whole community are showing their support for the ladies, after the hurlers and footballers exited the championship early this season. "In Stradbally, over the last number of years, we've been supporting the men. The ladies are now coming to the fore. Everybody is getting behind us and everybody is delighted that we're in two county finals. We'll give it our all on Sunday."
The Reds will appear in both junior and senior finals this weekend. The seniors shocked Comeragh Rangers 2-14 to 1-5 in the semi final. "We started out with a panel of 40 players and it was decided that we would field both a junior and a senior team this year. If you said to us at the start of the year that we would be in two county finals, we would have taken that. It's a huge day for the parish."
