This Sunday offers a feast of sport for the couch surfing sports fan.

There's Club Championship Hurling across the county, the Premier League is in its final day for this season, the first of the Championship play-offs get underway, there's horse racing and there's even World Matchplay Darts.

The action gets underway today the junior A tilts between Passage and Ballygunner as well as Kilmacthomas and Dunhill in Kill.

The first intermediate game of the day gets underway at 2 O' clock with Stradbally and Shamrocks in Fraher Field - also at 2 O Clock is the first Senior game of the day with Mt Sion and Clonea in Walsh Park.

We move back to intermediate at half past 3 when Ardmore and Sliabh Gua/St Marys get underway in Cappoquin.

Quarter to four is the throw in time for Portlaw and Ferrybank in their intermediate contest in Dunhill.

There's another Junior game at 5 with Geraldines and Tourin in Colligan.

Back to the city at half six when Butlerstown and De la Salle are in Walsh Park for their intermediate game.

And of course, we have a senior game to wrap up the days proceedings when Dungarvan and Fourmilewater go at it in Fraher Field

 

The Premier League’s longest season ends this afternoon, after an enforced break of a hundred days due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Champions Liverpool round off their campaign at Newcastle.

In the race for European football, Manchester United, who are third, will guarantee a top-four finish if they avoid defeat at Leicester. A win for their hosts will result in the same outcome for Leicester in fifth.

Fourth-placed Chelsea just need a point at home to Wolves to secure a Champions League group stage spot.

Meanwhile, Wolves will qualify for the Europa League for a second successive season if they win at Stamford Bridge.

At the other end, three teams will be looking to avoid being the two that join already-relegated Norwich, whose final top flight game is at Manchester City.

Aston Villa are outside the bottom three on goal difference ahead of their visit to West Ham, 18th-placed Watford are at Arsenal, while Bournemouth - in 19th - go to mid-table Everton.

There's Group One racing action at the Curragh today

Magical is looking for back to back wins in the Tattersalls Gold Cup at 2.55. Racing gets underway at 1.45 where the going is good.

Ken Doherty will face Mark King this afternoon in the third round of qualifying for the World Snooker Championship as the Dubliner bids to keep his playing tour card for next season.

Doherty, who won the title in 1997 and was runner-up in '98 and 2003, has not qualified for the tournament proper since reaching the second round in 2014.

The pair will take to the baize at 1.30pm.

Gary Anderson takes on Dimitri Van den Bergh tonight in the final of the Darts World Matchplay.

Anderson booked his place with a 18-16 win over Michael Smith in Milton Keynes last night.

Van den Bergh came through 17-15 against Glen Durrant in the other semi-final.
