Six All Stars have been left out of the Waterford hurling team for Saturday's Munster SHC clash with Cork.

2016 hurler of the year Austin Gleeson along with Stephen O'Keeffe, Noel Connors, Kevin Moran, Maurice Shanahan and Michael Walsh will all be on the bench for their last provincial game of 2019. It's a dead rubber for the Déise after losses to Clare, Tipperary and Limerick.

In a new look line-up, that shows seven changes from the team that lost by 20 points to the All Ireland champions last Sunday, Paraic Fanning has handed championship debuts to goalkeeper Billy Nolan and corner back Darragh Lyons. Shane McNulty, Conor Gleeson, Brian O'Halloran, Shane Bennett and Peter Hogan have all earned recalls to the side. Mahony brothers Philip (injury) and Pauric (suspension) are also marked absent for the visitors. There's only three survivors from the team that started the 2017 All Ireland final (Tadhg De Burca, Jamie Barron and Shane Bennett).

Waterford are without a championship win since the 2017 All Ireland semi final against the Rebels at Croke Park. They have lost their last two Munster championship matches by an aggregate margin of 38 points.
