Two-time All Ireland winner Brendan Cummins had to take a day off work following Liam Sheedy's departure as Tipperary boss in October 2010.
Sheedy's men stopped Kilkenny's drive for five but he stepped down shortly afterwards along with selectors Eamon O'Shea and Michael Ryan. "I remember it clearly. I didn't work the following day because I couldn't function. I thought 'this is the end of it, this is a disaster'. I remember ringing Eamon O'Shea saying 'what are you after doing?' Liam decided he couldn't give it any more and looking back, I wasn't surprised that he couldn't keep that level of commitment going. It's 24/7 with Liam. He went the extra mile all the time in the search for perfection for us. You respect that and you cherish it when you have it and when you don't it's like a death in the family."
