Waterford camogie boss Derek Lyons says that captain Lorraine Bray is the perfect role model around the camp.
The Cappoquin midfielder was named PwC GPA Camogie Player of the month for May earlier this week. She netted twice against Wexford and followed that up with three points from play against Tipperary.
"She's our leader on the field and off the field," Lyons told WLR Sport. "She leads by example. The best way you can lead a team is how you play yourself, how you behave and how you perform. You couldn't ask for a better role model within the group. What everybody loves about Lorraine is that she gets on with it, keeps her head down and keeps working. That's what she does best. She talks with her hurley and her effort and her determination. We're so happy for her to get that award but knowing the girl, that's of little interest to her if we don't qualify."
Waterford will welcome Cork to Walsh Park in a top of the table clash on Saturday evening at 5.30. One more win would send the Déise through to the knockout stages of the championship.
