While we sit and wait for a confirmation from the government, intercounty players across the country will be wondering if they have games to play this weekend.

Most people have accepted that "Level 4+" is the most likely outcome of the cabinet discussions, which leaves some wiggle room for elite athletes to continue their competitions.

Intercounty GAA has been deemed "elite" through the lens of covid - so unless level 5 is brought in, we should still be able to see the Deise intercounty panels in action across the winter months

Former Waterford Dual Star Shane "Shiner" Aherne is split on whether or not the games should go ahead

"There's two ways of coming at it and my jury is out at the moment. I think the GAA did prove on Saturday and Sunday that they can run these games fairly covid properly"

"I think the previous few weeks didn't help the GAA's cause - I thought it was a PR disaster. It went on for three of four weeks where people were seen running on to pitches, people were seen celebrating and what have you, it should have been stopped the first time it was seen"
