Seamus Power will get to start the new year earlier than expected after earning a late call-up for this week’s Sony Open in Hawaii.
The Irish Olympian made it in as first reserve after Jhonattan Vegas’ withdrawal due to a positive Covid-19 test.
It will be Power’s fourth start in the Sony Open in Hawaii.
He tied for 49th in 2017 before following a tied 54th finish in 2018 with a missed cut in 2019.
Power’s last appearance on the PGA Tour was a tied-37th finish at the Bermuda Championship in November.
Power will join Talor Gooch and Bill Haas on the 10th tee at 5.30pm Irish time on Thursday where he will be the only Irish player in the field
