Tramore Racecourse has announced that their newly upgraded Grade 3 chase on New Year's Day will be sponsored by Savills Ireland for the next three years.
The 2m 6f chase has been attracting increasingly better class of horse in recent years with previous winners Bachasson, Champagne West and most notably last year's Cheltenham Gold Cup winner Al Boom Photo.
Speaking at the sponsorship announcement Angus Potterton, Savills Ireland Managing Director said" The feature race on New Years Day at Tramore was our first venture into racing sponsorship two years ago. There is a great holiday atmosphere on the day and the crowds are always huge. I never thought that a Tramore winner would progress from our listed chase as it was then to winning the blue ribband of them all the Cheltenham Gold Cup.
Mr Potterton continued… From a commercial point of view the race in Tramore gives us a great brand presence in markets outside Dublin, the exposure from last years race was unprecedented and we feel Horse racing allows us great value for money as a marketing tool.
