Ireland’s Sam Bennett has just missed out on a first-ever stage victory in his maiden Tour de France.
The Carrick-on-Suir native was pipped by Caleb Ewan in a sprint finish into Sisteron for victory on stage 3. The Australian rider appeared from nowhere in an incredible sprint finish.
Julian Alaphilippe retains the leader’s yellow jersey.
Close but no cigar, great sprint by @CalebEwan . Congrats buddy 🤜🏻
