The Ballymacarbry ladies came back from six points down to complete 38 in a row against fierce rivals Comeragh Rangers in an epic county senior final at Leamybrien (1-14 to 0-14).
Captain and player of the match Sinead Ryan led the way with 1-9 as the holders got the last five points of the contest. Comeragh full forward Ruth Kirwan scored nine points but the challengers failed to score for the last twenty minutes.
Comeragh raced 7-1 up after 21 minutes before Sinead Ryan found the net for Ballymac. Six Kirwan points left it 0-9 to 1-3 at the break.
The sides were level three times during the second period but Ballymac finished strongly to retain their county crown. Points from Ryan, Brigita Valuntaite and Aileen Wall gave them a hard fought victory.
