The first of the Irish classics takes place at The Curragh this afternoon with the 2000 Guineas over one mile at 3.20. Nine runners chase a first prize of €290,000. Aidan O Brien relies on just Ivy League while the favourite is the English entry Native Trail trained by Charlie Appleby. Native Trail lost nothing in defeat finishing a close up second in the Newmarket Guineas and while he should win on that form there is little or no value in his price of 4/11.
Jason The Militant returns from injury for Henry De Bromhead in the Listed Orby Stakes at 3.55pm where he is joined by the Brian Gleeson owned Raise You.

Mosala who rarely runs a bad race and Annexation are the Butlerstown trainer's runners in the 4.30.
Shrewd County Meath trainer Gavin Cromwell sends a couple of runners over to Haydock Park and they will be ridden by promising seven pounds claiming apprentice Aidan Keeley.
