Waterford hurling boss Liam Cahill says he has every faith in his team but that it's "very very premature" to presume anything in terms of the championship.
The Déise got their Munster hurling championship campaign off to a winning start in Walsh Park on Sunday.
They defeated Tipperary with four points to spare after a game of two very different halves; the first 35 minutes saw the Premier men dominate.
The second half saw the tide turn for Waterford, with Austin Gleeson and Jamie Barron having a massive impact off the bench.
Late scores for Waterford from Hutchinson, Shane McNulty and Patrick Curran help Waterford put daylight between themselves and Tipp before the referee blew the full time whistle.
Speaking to WLR on Sunday, Liam Cahill said he's not sure why there's so much media coverage suggesting it's Waterford's year to win the All Ireland:
"Apart from a league there's nothing really achieved with this group as yet.. the test will always be championship hurling, and today was a real test for us. We're just delighted to get through it," he said.
Character of the players
Cahill praised the character of his players saying it was never in doubt, "I'll never question their character no matter what way things go in Waterford for me and this group of players."
He added every single one of the starting 15 against Tipp on Sunday "earned their jersey."
"Jamie (Barron) was coming back from a niggly injury and just hadn't enough game time in to start, Austin (Gleeson) had a little tweak during the week, we didn't really have a handle on it when we needed to put clarity of the team, so as it turns out in hindsight we needed everything today on the line."
Speaking further about the full squad, he added "I think it'll be badly needed in every county before this championship is over... the depth and strength of your panel will definitely come into play."
