Seamus Power failed to capitalise on a solid opening 10 holes of his second round which saw him 2 under par just two shots off making the cut after Friday’s second round of the Sony Open in Hawaii.
However eight consecutive pars on the remaining holes were simply not good enough and he failed to make the weekend by two.
A disappointing start to the New Year with no confirmation as of yet about his next event.
Out in the lead is Canada's Nicky Taylor who birdied five of his last seven holes to grab a two-stroke lead.
The 32-year-old from Winnipeg finished 36 holes at Waialae Country Club in Honolulu on 12-under 128 with five American rivals sharing second on 130.
