Power faces Two Big Weeks Buoyed by Top 15 Finish in Illinois

Seamus Power heads into the next two weeks on the golfing calendar buoyed by his strong finish last weekend at the John Deere Classic at TPC Deer Run.

Four sub par rounds including a superb final round of 7 under par 64 saw him power up the leaderboard and re-ignite his hopes of a spot on the European Ryder Cup team for the match in Rome in September.

He is the field for the Genesis Scottish Open at the Renaissance Club this week ahead of his second Open Championship at Hoylake next week.

There are just two events remaining on the PGA Tour schedule after the Open ahead of the FedEx Cup playoffs and Power is currently ranked 26th, which is inside the Top 30 who make the Tour Championship at the end of August.

Solid performances on this side of the Atlantic will bolster this position and while he is more or less guaranteed a place in the opening 2 events, he is targeting the lucrative finale in Atlanta on August 24.

He will play with 5 time PGA winner Sam Burns and former Scottish Open Champion Min Woo Lee of Australia over the first two rounds of the Scottish Open - they tee off from the tenth at 8.21am on Thursday and from the first at 13.36 on Friday.
