Waterford FC defender Alex Baptiste has expressed his amazement with the technical ability of his Blues teammate Phoenix Patterson.

The Scottish winger scored his third free-kick in as many games yesterday as the Blues came from behind to defeat Longford Town 2-1 and move second in the table in doing so.

Speaking afterward in Bishopsgate, Baptiste said Waterford are lucky to have a player of Patterson's quality in their ranks.

"I've never seen anyone score free kicks like they're easy. He scored an unbelievable goal in the FAI Cup. He's an unbelieveable player. We're really very lucky to have him. He's a fantastic asset for this club."

Patterson's free-kick last night was almost a carbon copy of his previous efforts in the past 8 days - as he found the net with a dead ball versus Bray Wanderers on September 25th and Cobh Ramblers on September 30th.

Waterford are next in action when they entertain Treaty United at home on Friday evening, before they take on Shelbourne in the FAI Cup semi-finals next Sunday, bidding to make the decider for the first time since 2004.
