Peter Queally has been informed that he will not be recommended for the vacant Waterford Senior Hurling Managers job.
He had been nominated by two clubs for the position.
It's understood the selection committee made up of county secretary Pat Flynn, vice-chairman Sean Michael O’Regan, Irial Mac Murchú , Stephen Frampton and Tom Feeney
have chosen a new manager, the details of which will be announced following ratification by the Waterford County Board.
Peter who was a Waterford selector with Davy Fitzgerald and steered Passage to a Waterford county title in 2013, had assembled an impressive backroom team.
It included outgoing selector Dan Shanahan, former Cork senior hurling manager and dual star Denis Walsh, and fitness coach Gerry Fitzpatrick.
He was told in a phone call last night that his name would not be going forward as a replacement for Páraic Fanning.
