Peter Moloney is the Supreme Park Hotel Waterford Sports Star for 2019.
The Colligan Showjumper was announced the overall winner by special guest, champion jockey Davy Russell last night.
Peter was instrumental in helping Ireland to qualify for next year's Olympic Games in Tokyo winning the Nations Cup final in Barcelona with the Irish team.
The Park Hotel Sports Star Awards is one of Ireland's longest running events of its kind. Last night was the 29th annual ceremony.
Peter told WLR Sport that he didn't expect to win and thanked the Park Hotel and the Flynn family saying it's a "fantastic night".
"This is the second time I've been up for the award, I think I was 16 the first time I got a monthly award so it took me this long to get [an overall award].
"It just shows you the depth of talent within the county."
He says he is fortunate to have a good owner in Princess Haya.
"We secured a good horse this year and luckily enough it clicked and we got on to the team.
"Barcelona was a bit of a pressure day, we had to win to qualify and thank god we got it done."
