De La Salle boss Brian Phelan heaped praise on goalkeeper Shaun O'Brien for his dedication to the shirt after Sunday's exciting SHC win over Lismore.
"That man had a christening today at half 1 and he left his child and his family at half 2 and he was brought straight up here. I’d give that man a lot of credit."
He pulled off three stunning saves from Paudie Prendergast, Ray Barry and Maurice Shanahan. “A future Waterford keeper to be honest if people pay attention to him.”
Phelan also feels that Jack Fagan is worthy of inter county recognition. He scored eleven points, nine in the second half, to steer Salle to a 2-21 to 1-18 victory. "He was away in Australia last year but that man deserves to be on the Waterford panel. Hopefully he might get a call-up. Looking at a lot of the games over the weekend, he was the best player on show.”
