Two games within the space of 24 hours proved to much for the Waterford Wildcats in the Women's Super league last night. On Saturday night they totally outclassed the Marble City Hawks in the Mercy Hall and they travelled to play Killester last night in a confident frame of mind and they trailed by just one point at the halftime break.

The Wildcats remained in touch with Killester at the end of the third quarter but the home side came on strong in the final quarter and ran out 85-66 winners.

Despite this defeat the Wildcats are just three points behind the joint leaders Liffey Celtics and Glanmire. On Saturday next they will host struggling Brunell at the Mercy Hall and a home win is predicted in that game.

Helena Rohan and Jazz Walker topped scored for the Wildcats last night with 14 points apiece. Cathy Kavanagh chipped in with 12 points.

In Division 1 of the Men's National League, there was a big difference in class and experience as league leaders Ballincollig easily got the better of WIT Vikings on a scoreline of 85 points to 49.

The Cork side are the only unbeaten team in the league and they showed why. For WIT Vikings the experience of playing teams of this level will be a big benefit going forward.
