The Waterford camogie team suffered their third All Ireland quarter final defeat in a row as they went down to Tipperary 1-12 to 0-10 at a windswept Páirc Uí Chaoimh. Karen Kennedy netted the decisive goal on 42 minutes.
Tipp led by eight points to six at half time after playing with a strong wind. Waterford got three of the last four scores through Sarah Lacey, Niamh Rockett and Abby Flynn.
The Premier County kicked on in the third quarter as Kennedy flicked the ball past Brianna O'Regan and forced it over the line. The first goal Waterford conceded in the 2020 championship.
Beth Carton sent over three late points and finished with five. Her injury time effort was brilliantly saved by Aine Slattery.
